Born in 1950, in Varanasi (UP) he did his medical graduation and postgraduation from Kanpur University. He obtained his D.M. (Gastroenterology) degree from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi UP in 1981.
He initiated and consolidated Gastroenterology services at Kasturba Gandhi Medical College, Manipal (1982-85) and Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna (1985-1994).
He has published more than 30 papers in national and international journals. He has co-authored a book Pet Rog - Vyavharik Batein few general public in Hindi.
With a Professional experience of more than 35 years, he has been serving people of Bihar for last 25 years. He has served as national Vice President of Indian Society of Gastroenterology and founder president of its Bihar chapter.
His pioneer work on Cancer of Gall Bladder in transgangetic belt of India has created lot of interest and initiated many research projects in this field.
He is providing free vaccine to prevent hepatitis B at various centers and organising programmes to stimulate spiritual growth of people
